Thanksgiving in Charleston
Because it’s Thanksgiving Day I decided to use this blog post to share a few of the things that I am thankful for. Which is a lot of things!
Toulouse
This little guy came into my life this past June and life has been crazy, but amazing, ever since. Many of you might not know that I grew up with 4 dogs. My sisters and I considered them our siblings and they were definitely part of the family. So when we lost our last pup this past February it felt weird without him. Without dogs around it’s too quiet and the feeling wasn’t the same in the house. So I started filling out adoption papers and looking around at the rescues in Charleston. I 100% believe that God put Toulouse in my life and I was always supposed to be his mom. I was so close to adopting another girl puppy, but I got the call from the Grateful Golden Rescue of the Lowcountry that Toulouse was available for adoption and I had him within 24 hours!
My family
My family has supported me through these past two crazy years of being a business owner. They’ve been by my side every step of the way and I don’t know what I would do without them.
P.S. this is last Thanksgiving in Charleston!
My little Gus Gus
I know I don’t post about her much, but that’s mainly because she spends majority of her time hiding from Toulouse. No joke!! I found Gus in a bush my freshman year of college and brought her home with me that summer. She was my first baby! I love her and she got me through some hard times at college!
Thanksgiving food
I couldn’t not put this in here. And it’s not just the food, but the atmosphere. This is one of my favorite holidays because we always have family in town and we are all together. Which never happens!
Time off
I am making a point to actually take time off this year and spend quality time with my family. Last year I took on too many sessions this time of year and ended up even having a session on Christmas Eve. Yep. So this year I am making it a little different. I am taking the week off to celebrate, relax and eat lots of food!
My job
And last on the list today (I do have a lot more I’m thankful for, but I am trying to keep it short for your sake!) is my job. Definitely not least though! I am so absolutely thankful for this career. The people I’ve met, the emotions I’ve felt and the love that I’ve seen makes all of the hard stuff worth it. I wouldn’t change it for the world.
