The Gadsden House Charleston Wedding Venue is stunning. If you are a fan of clean, Southern style, this is the venue for you.
Charleston Wedding Venues are magical.
Every single venue has it’s own perks and unique features. The Gadsden House is a little different from the rest for a few reasons.
You are surrounded by beautiful, bright white walls and light blue accents.
At a lot of the venues you will find brick or dark wood. The Gadsden House is so light and airy. It makes your wedding look so magical!
There’s a massive bridal suite upstairs for you and your bridesmaids to get ready in.
It’s the perfect space for a few reasons. There’s TONS of natural light in there! That makes it beautiful for photos and even easier for the makeup artists! Also, the room is huge. Like you can have a bridal party of 5-8 people and still feel comfortable up there.
Not only is it a room, but there’s a little kitchen area! Bring in food and snacks for the day to eat while you’re getting ready. Or even before/after the wedding! Some couples like to sneak away for a few minutes to be alone and the bridal suite would be the perfect place for that.
The Gadsden House Charleston Wedding Venue has the perfect setup for your ceremony.
You can choose to get married inside or outside. Outside there’s lots of greenery and plenty of space for all of your guests. Your groom will get to see you walk out of the beautiful wooden doors to the house before you walk down the aisle.
Or you can get married inside. Which is just as great! Plus it’s an amazing option in case there’s rain on your wedding day. There’s still a ton of natural light due to the floor to ceiling windows. You can see the Ravenel Bridge and a lot of Downtown Charleston from the windows too. And you can set up some beautiful draping florals over the fireplace! It’s a win-win either way.
You have the option to go walk around Downtown Charleston for bride and groom portraits.
This is a huge plus! Instead of being in the really busy part of Downtown Charleston, The Gadsden House is tucked away near some cute houses. This gives you so much variety for your just married photos! You can walk a few steps down the street and have huge oaks and cute Charleston houses as your backdrop. A lot of couples who choose to have a first look like to go out to a quiet street and have their first look there. That way you have a lot of variety from the Gadsden House.
And last, but not least, the dining options are phenomenal.
You have SO many options on where to put your tables for dining. You can use the massive front porch, the outside courtyard, or inside the house on either floor. Some of my favorite setups have been half inside and half outside on the porch. You can prop open the doors and guests can mingle throughout the inside and outside. But whatever way you do it will be beautiful I’m sure!
And for fun, a few more pictures that I love from this venue!
If you are looking for a wedding venue in Charleston, SC, I highly recommend The Gadsden House!
I always love photographing weddings there for these reasons.
A few of the images captured above were taken while second shooting for Emily Meeks Photography.
