I distinctly remember the very first time I officially met Anna.
I was sitting in my tiny dorm room bed and had just finished unpacking my one plastic tub of clothes and few other items (Yes, I really only had one small tub of clothes).
There was a quiet, unsure knock on the dorm room door.
I wasn’t expecting company so I hesitantly turned the door knob.
Standing there were two girls and they had huge smiles on their faces.
They started enthusiastically introducing themselves while I stood awkwardly, trying not to be intimidated.
I mean, it was my first time away from home and truly by myself! After enduring my awkwardness for long enough they started to make their exit, insisting that I come over later for a dinner party. Little did I know that these two girls would become my best friends shortly after this.
That was over 5 years ago.
Now I look back and I am so thankful they came and knocked on my door that day.
When I say that I wouldn’t have survived college without Anna I am not exaggerating! She took care of me when I was sick, brought me energy drinks and food when I was pulling an all nighter for a test, encouraged me whenever I was feeling down and she NEVER stopped pushing me to be a better person. I seriously could not have found a better best friend than Anna.
Writing this brings tears to my eyes because I am so thankful to have Anna in my life and I can’t wait to see her and her little family go on this journey! Baby Clinton is going to have the best mom in the entire world. I can’t wait to meet him and watch the four of them take on this new adventure together.
Anna, the past 5 years being your friend have been filled with laughter, tears (mostly happy), struggles and growth. I will be there anytime you need an extra hand to help or simply someone to talk to (I’m not sure if I can help with the dirty diapers though, sorry). I can’t wait to see where life takes you and your family and I know I’ll be there until the end!
