When I first rented a Contax 645, I really wanted to take some classic Charleston bridal portraits on the beach and under the Spanish moss. Luckily, my sister was more than willing to help me out!

As I’ve said before, South Carolina is the perfect spot for photographing weddings, engagements, and bridal portraits.

Why? Because we have an unlimited amount of locations to visit and they are all gorgeous! This is one of the main reasons I was dying to take some photos! And because I hadn’t had very many chances to play around with my film camera.

I borrowed a few beautiful bridal gowns from Verita bridal in Mount Pleasant. I’ve worked with them a few times and they’re always so wonderful! We picked a dress that we could play with a little. Being able to twirl and fluff the dress was my main goal!

Being a film photographer in the Lowcountry makes it a lot easier to slow down and capture the true beauty of our city.

The first location was a spot in Mount Pleasant that I am obsessed with. I’ve taken many photos here for a lot of my clients and friends! And they always love the photos as well. My favorite part about this location is the huge Oak trees with Spanish moss dripping down off of them.

Take a look at these classic Charleston bridal portraits!

The second location I was dying to go to was Sullivan’s Island. When the tide is low there is this row of rocks that looks so magical! We made it just before the sun went down. So we weren’t able to take as many photos here, but I still love them!

These photos are the reason I love being a Charleston wedding photographer.

The colors and feel of the photos are just so appealing to look at. Thanks again to my sister and Verita bridal for making this magical session happen! I can’t wait to take many more bridal portraits in Charleston.
