If you are planning your wedding in Charleston, SC you definitely need to take a look at the Historic Rice Mill!
In the most beautiful location, it overlooks the Charleston harbor with a stunning view of sailboats and open water. The Historic Rice Mill is very conveniently located too! A lot of my brides and grooms opt to take a ride in a limo or car to their hotel in the heart of Downtown Charleston.
Aside from the location, there are plenty of other great things about this Charleston wedding venue!
If you are getting married in the Spring time, you will notice beautiful Azaleas blooming out front. This makes for a great photo opportunity! I love bringing my brides out front to take pictures in front of these gorgeous flowers. But they only bloom for about 2 months so you have to time it perfectly!
The Historic Rice Mill has access to docks and great views.
Another great thing about this wedding venue in Downtown Charleston is the dock! We have access to take photos on the dock with a stunning background! This is perfect for those couples who want to snag some gorgeous sunset photos to print out and hang on their walls.
Another great thing about this venue is the inside! The floor plan is very open, with a fairly big dance floor located right by the bar. You can have all your guests in a different room to eat and then get the party started right away in the room right next door! Not only do you have the inside of the building, but the back patio too. This is perfect for those summer nights when the salty breeze is floating through the air. Your guests will love this location just because of this patio!
And last, but not least, they have the best food around. I’m not kidding!
I always look forward to photographing weddings at this Charleston wedding venue for that reason.
I definitely recommend their mac and cheese bar. You can add seafood, barbecue, or whatever you like to it! And their fried chicken is amazing! Basically you can’t go wrong. I promise!
Moral of the story: If you’re still searching for the perfect venue for your Charleston wedding you need to take a look at the Historic Rice Mill. The staff is incredible and friendly, the views are stunning, and the location is perfect. And if you do contact them, let them know I sent them your way! Here’s a link to their Instagram page 🙂
