I’ve been dying to photograph a McClellanville engagement session so I was so happy when Katherine and Robbie were sent my way!

The connections of Charleston always amaze me. For those of you who didn’t know, I played volleyball all throughout middle school, high school, and college. I met a ton of amazing people through volleyball and I am still in touch with them to this day! One of Katherine’s friends played volleyball with me in high school, so she sent Katherine my information. And the rest is history! I will forever be grateful for volleyball because it has helped me meet some pretty amazing people. So, thanks to Sophie, Katherine messaged me about scheduling an engagement session at a family home they had in the Charleston area.

When Katherine told me they wanted to have their engagement session captured in McClellanville, I was sold.

McClellanville is a small little town tucked away in the Lowcountry. It is still fairly small, but because so many people are moving to the Charleston area they are starting to expand out that way. I’m not going to lie, it’s a little sad to see happening. Katherine talked about how when she was growing up there were no grocery stores nearby. You had to drive about an hour to get to one! But now there are a few shops and grocery stores just down the road.

If you haven’t been to McClellanville, you need to visit as soon as possible!

Their family home was tucked away right on the water. The giant oak trees were lining the drive and I knew as soon as I saw them that we had to take pictures with them as the backdrop. I can never turn down oak trees with Spanish moss!

Katherine and Robbie were so sweet and SO easy to take pictures of! We talked nonstop about golden retrievers and growing up in the LowCountry. You know we had to talk about golden retrievers especially since her baby Riley was there with us! I am so excited for you all to see these photos – I’m obsessed with them!

Dogs are basically a necessity for engagement photos now.

These two are the cutest and I can’t wait to see wedding photos when they tie the knot!
