Have you ever lost photos that were special to you? I have too, but I now have thousands of memories saved due to printing my photos. Here are 4 reasons why you should print your photos!
1. Technology can be unreliable
I’ve heard far too many horror stories about couple’s wedding photos being lost forever because they store them on a computer or hard drive that crashed. I can’t even imagine if that happened to me!
I’ve actually had something like this happen to me, but it wasn’t wedding photos. I was a Sophomore in college and sitting at a flimsy desk with my old Dell computer that my dad got me for High School graduation. It was a pretty sturdy computer and it had been through a lot already, but this was the final straw. I got up from my desk to talk to my professor and the computer was too heavy for the desk, so they both crashed to the ground. I immediately started panicking because EVERYTHING was on that computer! My assignments, pictures from the past few years in college, passwords, and more. I never thought to back it up! It was never an issue! So I lost years worth of memories and school projects. I was devastated.
And that’s why I have 5 external hard drives and I ALWAYS print my photos.
Even if it’s just some 4×6 prints to put up on my wall. You never know what’s going to happen, so it’s better to be safe than sorry!
In addition to losing all of my memories, there are also a ton of childhood memories or photos of my family that I will never have access to because my parents never thought to print them when we were growing up. They did print a few of their wedding photos and they still have their wedding album so at least we have been able to see those.
2. It’s different being able to actually hold your memories in your hands
I’m telling you there is something amazing about holding an album in your hands.
I absolutely love flipping through old albums of my family. I can spend hours looking at pictures! And you can’t deny that you’ve done the same thing. There’s just something so personal and magical about being able to flip through pages and pages of memories.
3. Your children, grandchildren, and future generations will thank you for it
Like I said above, I would’ve never seen my parent’s wedding photos if it weren’t for their wedding album or prints. They have a total of 4 prints from their wedding day hanging up in the hallway of their house. That may not seem like a lot, but it’s better than nothing!
I’m so happy that they had their photos printed out to remember forever.
Now I will be able to show my kids and grandkids (when the day comes for both of those to happen) their grandma and grandpa’s wedding day. And lots of other memories we all share together.
4. Albums, canvases, or prints can last forever if taken care of
If you purchase high quality albums, prints, or canvases, they will last a lifetime. I only buy my albums and canvases from labs that I trust. And when I sell prints, albums, or canvases to my clients, they only receive the best from those same labs. The investment is a little more than Walmart or Costco, but it will save you money and memories in the long run – I promise!
And these are just a few reasons why you should print your photos!
So when you’re thinking about printing those wedding photos or designing an album, don’t hesitate to contact me! I love putting them together and being able to help preserve those memories. It is something I believe in 100%.
